Hypnosis for health- mind and body...

The first thing people usually say when we mention hypnosis is, “Are you going to make me cluck like a chicken?” They immediately follow it with, “Can you help me quit smoking?” No, Yes, and we can help you with many other things as well.

I completed Hypnotherapy training in April, 2012 at the Hypnotherapy Training Institute in Corte Madera, CA with Randal Churchill and Cheryl Canfield (with a couple of other folks as well). I can not thank them enough for giving me, what I feel was, an extremely well-rounded and complete education and experience of the subject.

Through my training, I feel best able to help you help yourself using Ericksonian and Gestalt methods. I like the nature of these techniques in that they are a rather organic, holistic approach. Through conversation, hypnosis and homework (which generally includes teaching you self-hypnosis!), many health and emotional issues may be addressed, often through far fewer sessions than simply talk-therapy might. I have also come to very much value “Tapping” or EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).

What is hypnosis? In brief, it is a heightened state of awareness reached while in a trancelike state, a state of extreme relaxation, suggestibility and enlivened imagination. No, you will not ever do anything while in hypnosis that would endanger you. Your morals and ethics are never compromised. It is more like a place where your noisy self is quieted enough that your inner voice can be heard.

Our day to day lives are seemingly handled by our conscious minds, how to get from here to there, what to make for dinner, how to make that presentation at work. But then there is the “subconscious” mind, the mind “behind the scenes” as it were. This next level down is the center of your reflexes, emotions and memories as well as your autoimmune system. All those essential functions like breathing and digesting as well as the manual functions you carry out are actually pre-planned and directed in your subconscious mind. If you had to think through every single movement it took to drive a car every time you got behind the wheel, well... once we learn that skill it is relegated to the memory bank. It is through hypnosis that one is able to access and “speak with” that subconscious that we might put things in a clearer perspective from an adult point of view or, delete and reboot habits.

I look forward to the opportunity to assist you in unlocking your inner potential, boost your body’s own self-healing abilities and show you how to simply let go of stress and enjoy life more fully.
